Frank Bailly runs this consistent, solid-performer 20-ha Bue estate. The vineyards are located on the slopes of Sancerre, Bue and Chavignol. The blend of these three different terroirs (caillottes, terres blanches and silex) contribute greatly to the balance and consistency found in the wines produced by this remarkable estate.
The house style is not for artificial, enzyme-enhanced aromas and flavours, nor for heavy-handed concentration or weight. It is a pure, direct expression of skilfully grown Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre’s inimitable limestone terroir.
"Stylish effort, with some ripe kiwi fruit on the nose alongside fresh gooseberry, mineral
and pungent notes. Full, rich on the palate with fresh tropical fruit, jasmine, mineral and smoky notes. Clean, fresh finish. "
"Stones and gooseberries are found in the aromas of this Sancerre. This rich, medium-bodied wine is highly expressive, tangy, juicy, and satin-textured. Loads of salty minerals are intermingled with pears, apples, flint, and hints of citrus fruits in this lush offering’s personality." Wine Advocate
