| Domaine Clavel "Le Mas" Coteaux du Languedoc is one of the best-value wine in our entire list. The amiable Pierre Clavel produces this cuvee "Le Mas" from a vineyard planted on rolling hills near from Montpellier. This area, which is known as "La Mejanelle" is covered with the same, large and rounded galets as those found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. A blend of 70% old-vine carignan and 30% grenache, the wine is tank fermented and aged on its lees for 12 months. This is a bright, lush and charming example of Coteaux du Languedoc that still manages to maintain balance and freshness because of its combination of fruit and acidity. |
