This estate was officially born in 2002, when Domaine Lucien Boillot was split between brothers Louis and Pierre. Louis Boillot inherited 7 ha of vineyards in both Cotes de Nuits and Cote de Beaune and has recently moved his cellar with his wife Ghislaine Barthod in Chambolle-Musigny. The consistency of Louis’s range is quite impressive; his wines are whistle-clean, deeply-flavoured and elegant Burgundies.
“Having moved from Volnay to a newly-expanded facility he shares with his wife, Ghislaine Barthod, Louis Boillot fields a large and geographically diverse range of generally impressive, pure-fruited Pinots.” Wine Advocate
A Cotes de Nuits-Villages from vineyards averaging 53 years in Brochon (bordering the Fixin Clos du Chapitre) smells sweetly of cherry, cherry pits and cinnamon, comes onto the palate sleek and refined, with cut and brightness and finishes with salty, chalky mineral suggestions and persistent lively fruit.
