OLIVIER LEFLAIVE, BOURGOGNE Pinot Noir

OLIVIER LEFLAIVE, BOURGOGNE Pinot Noir

2008 OLIVIER LEFLAIVE
red, 12.5% abv Burgundy 75cl

Member of one of the most famous wine family in Burgundy, Olivier created this micro-negociant business, sourcing grapes and must from a handful of dedicated growers.
The wines made in collaboration with in-house oenologist Franck Grux are immaculate, easily accessible and uncompromisingly modern.
Today, Olivier spread his time between his winery and greeting visitors to his “Table d’Olivier Leflaive” restaurant and guest house located in the heart of Puligny village.

"Pale, transparent ruby red with broad ruby garnet rim. Juicy, fresh strawberry fruit, touch of beetroot, Dry, light bodied, crisp, crunchy acidity. Crunchy redcurrant fruit character on the palate with a savoury, creaminess on the back-palate. Straightforward, refreshing, with nice purity and ripe, structuring tannins on the finish. Delicious when drunk a little on the cool side, and would be a good complement to light foods: duck salad; pan-fried salmon or goats cheese and beetroot salad." Claire O`Boyle

"Leflaive is a legendary name in Burgundy, and is associated with some of the greatest white wines in the World. Small supplies of Olivier Leflaive`s Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet are fought over by wine lovers each year.
Generic Burgundy red can be sourced from across the whole region, but Leflaive sources only from small single vineyards in and around Beaune. The result is a light but vibrant wine with tangy savoury notes, light tart raspberry, touches of kir and a grippy, firm finish. It is a solid, attractive wine with no artifice."
