| ROBERTO CESCONI, MORATEL ROSSO, VIGNETTI DELLE DOLOMITI IGT The four Cesconi brothers have transformed their family estate in the past decade, and today they are making some of Italy’s most exciting wines. The brothers now have 12 hectares of vineyard in and around the village of Pressano situated at an altitude of about 300 metres. All their vineyards are now trained to guyot, while most of the rest in Trentino are on pergola. Guyot gives lower yields and riper, more flavourful fruit that in turn results in wines of greater power and balance. Single vineyard Moratel is a blend of Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet and Teroldego. It has a complex, subtle nose of fruit of the forest and herbs. The palate is fresh, with plenty of ripe berries. |
