Sandford Estate is located in the Murray River area of Victoria, about 20 miles east of Mildara. The emphasis is on producing wines of balance and varietal character rather than the over sweetened, ‘bubble-gum’ style commonly found at this price level. All the wines are produced from Sandford own vineyards.
The Sémillon (74% ) and Sauvignon blanc blend underwent a cool and gentle processing to minimise phelonic extraction followed by a slow and cool fermentation to retain the fruit character. The result is a subtle wine with aromas of kiwi fruit with leafy hints, the palate is fresh with savoury fruit character – kiwi, citrus, exotic fruit – it ends with a fine acidity.
